Consent Forms
There are three distinct categorizations of minors for this event. Please read the following guide carefully to determine which situation fits you and/or your minor.
The consent forms for FurFest 2024 are now available! Please review the information below to determine which form is right for you and your minor.
Please see our Guide for Parents and Minors and Registration FAQ for more information.
1. Your minor is of any age younger than 18 AND you will be attending the event with them.
No form is needed as you are accompanying your minor. Parents and legal guardians are requested to stay on property while their minor is at the convention. Younger attendees that need supervision should be with their parent or legal guardian at all times. As a courtesy, parents and legal guardians are offered complimentary badges so they may stay with their minor in convention space.
You and your minor need to appear at registration at the same time for your minor to get their badge.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter and we apologize for the extra work, but unfortunate incidents at other conventions have forced us to take this measure. These policies are in place to protect the convention, its staff and volunteers, the minor and the parents.
2. Your minor is 17 years old AND will be attending the convention without a parent or guardian present.
If your minor is 17 years old, they may attend without a parent or legal guardian. We require a completed and notarized Parental Permission Form. This form must be brought by your minor to Registration before they can complete their purchase or badge pick-up.
If your minor does not have this form when they arrive or if it's not completed and notarized, they cannot receive their badge. The form must be brought by the minor to registration, forms emailed in advance or during the event will not be accepted.
We will not accept permission from a parent or legal guardian granted over the phone or in an email under any circumstances.
If your minor turns 18 during the convention, we'll be happy to provide them with a regular badge as a birthday gift, upon returning to Registration with a valid ID showing their birthday. They will receive a minor badge until then.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter and we apologize for the extra work, but unfortunate incidents at other conventions have forced us to take this measure. These policies are in place to protect the convention, its staff and volunteers, the minor and the parents.
3. Your minor is younger than 18 and will be supervised by an adult who is NOT their parent or guardian.
You will need to complete the Short Term Guardian Form in order to designate a supervising adult who is not a parent or legal guardian of the minor who wishes to attend. Examples would be but are not limited to: a relative (aunt/uncle, grandparent, sibling) of the minor who is not already their legal guardian; a neighbor; a friend; a parent of their friend; etc.
The supervising adult must be 18 years or older.
The form is required to be signed by the parent or legal guardian AND the supervising adult in the presence of the notary.
If the minor or the supervising adult does not bring this form, we will not be able to issue their badge. The form must be brought to registration, forms emailed in advance or during the event will not be accepted.
The supervising adult must be present and provide identification matching the form at the time the minor checks in. Badges will not be issued to minors without a supervising adult present.
We will not accept permission granted by a parent or legal guardian over the phone or in an email under any circumstances.
Supervising adults are requested to stay on property while their charges are at the convention. Younger attendees that need supervision should be with their parent, legal guardian, or supervising adult at all times. As a courtesy, supervising adults who are not otherwise attending the convention on their own are offered complimentary badges so they may stay with the minor in convention space.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter and we apologize for the extra work, but unfortunate incidents at other conventions have forced us to take this measure. These policies are in place to protect the convention, its staff and volunteers, the minor and the parents.
