Dealers Den Timed entry
After many years of lining up and waiting in a long line to get into the Dealers Den each Friday at opening, this year brings big changes!
If you've attended Biggest Little FurCon in recent years, you may be familiar with the timed entry system implemented for the initial hours of the first day. This system effectively managed the influx of attendees, creating a more orderly and predictable entry process. FurFest will be adopting this system for the first time this year.
A timed entry system offers several advantages, enhancing the overall convention experience for attendees. By eliminating the need to arrive hours early to secure a spot in line, attendees can allocate more time to explore other convention activities, maximizing their enjoyment. Additionally, timed entry helps to mitigate overcrowding within the Dealers Den throughout the day, creating a more comfortable and enjoyable shopping environment for all. As the convention continues to grow in popularity, timed entry becomes increasingly crucial to ensure the safety and comfort of all attendees, particularly considering the limited space available within the venue. It's important to note that timed entry is only requiredfor the first four hours of the Dealers Den, from 1 PM to 5 PM.
Timed Entry FAQ
-
After registering on Thursday, as you exit you will see a table in Hall B with Crowd Control staffers. They will hand you a ticket for a timed entry spot when you show your registration badge.
-
Timed entry tickets are required for all attendees who are not registered at the Sponsor or Super Sponsor level. Sponsors and Super Sponsors have open access to the Dealers Den starting at 1 PM.
-
As a Super Sponsor or Sponsor, you have the privilege of early access to the Dealers Den. You can enter the Den at 1 PM without a timed entry ticket.
-
If you have an accessibility need, please visit the Accessibility Helpdesk upon picking up your registration. They will provide specific instructions on how to enter the Dealers Den, ensuring a smooth and accommodating experience.
-
Please arrive at the Dealers Den 15 minutes before your assigned time slot. Look for signs directing you down the hall to the timed entry queue. A Crowd Control staff member will collect your ticket, and you can then enter the queue for your specific time slot.
-
If there are any remaining tickets available for timed entry on Friday afternoon, you will be able to pick up a ticket from the entrance of the Dealers den when it opens (1pm). If there are no more tickets available, you will have to wait until 5pm to enter the den.
-
Unfortunately, once you've exited the Dealers Den, you cannot re-enter with a timed entry ticket. You can, however, return to the Dealers Den after 5 PM when it opens to the public for general admission.
-
Tickets are timed for 15 minutes from 1:30 PM until 4:45 PM. Each time slot has 500 tickets, each hour will support 2,000 people for entry. For 14 time slots, that’s a maximum of 7,000 attendees that can visit between 1:30 PM and 5 PM.
-
In what should be a rare occurrence, as an example if you hold a ticket for 4pm, and there are still tickets for that time frame available, Crowd Control will make an announcement via social media channels that the timed entry limit will be lifted, and all are welcome to attend.
-
While sponsors have the benefit of open entry, it cannot be extended to non-sponsors. However, you can accompany your friend and enter the Dealers Den together during their designated timed entry slot.
-
If you miss your scheduled time, please present your ticket to a Crowd Control staffer at the designated line up area. A staffer will direct you to the next timed entry line where you can enter the den.
-
Due to fire safety regulations and potential overcrowding, we may need to limit capacity and delay entry to the Dealers Den. Please be patient as we work to ensure everyone's safety.
